Preparation before you arrive
We recommend eating a light meal one to two hours beforehand, staying well hydrated, and avoiding caffeine if you are sensitive to stimulation. Bring a change of clothes if you’d like to refresh after your session, though most guests leave feeling comfortable in what they arrived in. If you have any small cuts or freshly shaved skin, let the team know — we can provide a barrier balm to keep you comfortable in the mineral-rich water.
If this is your first float, you don’t need to bring anything special. We provide towels, earplugs, and a clean, private suite. Just arrive with a curious, open mindset and let the environment do the rest.
Arrival and settling in
When you arrive, our team will greet you, confirm your preferences, and walk you through a brief orientation. You’ll be shown to your private suite — a quiet space with a shower, fresh towels, and your float room or pod. You can ask questions at any time; we are here to make the experience feel effortless.
Take a few minutes to slow down. Many guests find it helpful to silence their phone, remove jewelry, and give themselves permission to be offline for a while. The goal is to shift gently out of doing and into being.
Showering before you float
A quick rinse is part of the ritual. Showering removes lotions, oils, and makeup so the water stays pristine. You can keep your earplugs in to reduce water in the ears, and if you wear contact lenses, consider removing them for extra comfort.
After the shower, you’ll enter the float room. The water is skin-temperature and saturated with pharmaceutical-grade epsom salts, creating effortless buoyancy. The environment is yours to control — you can choose soft lights and ambient sound, or opt for total darkness and silence.
Entering the pod or room
When you’re ready, step into the float room or pod and gently lower yourself into the water. The sensation is immediate: your body becomes light, your muscles soften, and the water supports you without pressure points. Many guests float with arms by their sides or above their head, whichever feels most natural.
We recommend starting with the door or lid slightly open if you’re new to the experience. Once you feel settled, you can close it fully for maximum stillness or leave it open if that feels better. There is no “right way” — comfort and safety come first.
The floating experience
As the session unfolds, sensory input quiets and the nervous system shifts toward rest. Some guests notice their thoughts slow and soften; others feel a gentle, meditative focus. It’s normal for the mind to wander — the environment is designed to support deep rest without effort.
Your body is weightless, joints decompress, and the nervous system can downshift into recovery. Many guests experience a sense of time distortion — 60 minutes can feel much longer or shorter. This is a common sign that your brain is resting from external stimulation.
Mindset tips for first-timers
- Let go of expectations. The experience is different for everyone, and each float can feel unique.
- Gently return to your breath if your mind feels busy. There is no “performance” here — just rest.
- If you feel sensations like light drifting or subtle movement, it’s normal — the body is settling.
- Give yourself permission to be still. The more you allow, the more restorative the session can feel.
After your float
When the session ends, soft lighting or gentle music will cue you. Take your time, sit up slowly, and rinse off in your private shower to remove the salts. This is an ideal moment to pause and notice how your body feels — lighter, calmer, more spacious.
Hydrate and move gently afterward. Many guests feel a lingering calm and improved sleep later that night. If you’re curious, we can suggest ways to support the benefits, from recovery-focused sessions to stress regulation and mindfulness practices.
Common concerns, answered
“Will I feel claustrophobic?” Many guests leave the door open, and the room is designed to feel spacious. You are in full control the entire time.
“What if I fall asleep?” It’s safe to drift — the water’s buoyancy keeps your face above the surface. Light dozing is common and often deeply restorative.
“Is it sanitary?” Suites are cleaned between each visit, and our filtration system continuously circulates and purifies the water.
“What if I need to stop?” You can exit at any time. The experience is always yours to pace.
